The “Power Hour”

Do you feel as though you already have a great support network in place, but would love the chance to pick a birth professional’s brain for an hour? This service is designed specifically for those who may not require additional support throughout their whole pregnancy and birth, but would benefit from a one-off session. This can either be done in the comfort of your own home, at your favourite coffee shop, or a location of your choice. If an online session suits you better, virtual meetings are also an option.

This service includes the following:

  • A one-hour session with the freedom to cover any topic you wish. Examples include the physiology of labour and birth; tips and techniques for birth partners; preparing a birth plan; postpartum planning; breastfeeding basics.

  • Provision of ‘cheat sheets’ relevant to your chosen topic(s).

  • Suggestions for reading material and online resources.

  • Support via phone, text message and email during our business hours for 7 days following our session together.

Practical Birth Preparation Classes -

Private Sessions

$99 per session

Birth classes which come to you - what a game changer! These sessions are done in the comfort of your own home and have been designed for you and your entire birth support team - partners; student midwives and doulas are all welcome!

We believe our approach to birth preparation stands out from the crowd due to our focus on affordability, practicality, and on the importance of your birth partner. Our aim is for the both of you to leave the sessions feeling calm, confident, and well-prepared for your exciting journey ahead.

The classes are comprised of two relaxed and informal sessions, which are tailored to meet your individual needs. Each session is also complemented by a carefully curated resource pack. During the first session, we focus on all things labour and birth. During the second session, we explore what to expect during the postpartum period, basic newborn cares and an introduction to breastfeeding. There will be plenty of time during each session for Q&As, and as a ‘thank you’ for booking with us, you will have email access to Mel and her birth brain for the remainder of your pregnancy.

You are more than welcome to just book in for one session; you do not need to commit to both. Please allow a minimum of 3 hours for the labour and birth session, and 2.5-3 hours for the postpartum/breastfeeding session.

Birth Partner Preparation Package

Being a birth partner is an honour and a privilege, but it can often feel quite daunting. This package is designed to help your chosen birth partner prepare for their role as your support person. Our time spent together will cover your preferences for labour and birth, identify what your expectations of one another are and we will share our best tips and tricks so that you can both approach the birth feeling calm and confident. Additional meetings are available to purchase, the information for which can be found below.

This package includes the following:

  • A free 45-minute obligation-free consultation.

  • Three antenatal meetings (up to 2 hours per meeting). The first and final meetings will be done together as a couple, with the second session being solely with your birth partner so that they have a safe, private space for discussion.

  • Support via phone, text message and email during our business hours throughout pregnancy up until the onset of labour.

  • Education on tips and techniques for labour, including light touch massage, acupressure points, positions for labour and birth, and breathing techniques.

  • Provision of ‘cheat sheets’ as visual references for the above techniques to use during labour and birth.

  • A small labour and birth toolkit tailored to your preferences for you to take to the hospital or birth centre.

Birth Preparation Package

These sessions are designed to provide individualised education and support for you and your birth partner(s) during pregnancy in the comfort of your own home. During our time together we can discuss the options for your labour and birth, identify your ideal birth experience and create a plan for your maternity care providers. We will also share our top tips and tricks so that your birth partner feels 100% confident in their support role. Additional meetings are available to purchase, the information for which can be found below.

This package includes the following:

  • A free 45-minute obligation-free consultation.

  • Three antenatal meetings (up to 2 hours per meeting).

  • Support via phone, text message and email during our business hours throughout pregnancy up until the onset of labour.

  • Access to a comprehensive online resource library including videos, blogs, articles, and professional research studies.

  • Assistance with completing a birth plan.

  • Education on tips and techniques for labour, including light touch massage, acupressure points, positions for labour and birth, and breathing techniques.

  • Provision of ‘cheat sheets’ to assist you and your primary birth support person in the above techniques for labour and birth.

  • A small labour and birth toolkit tailored to your preferences for you to take to the hospital or birth centre.

  • Referral recommendations for other healthcare professionals, complementary therapists, and support services as required.

Additional meetings can be purchased for antenatal and postpartum support and added to any of our packages. These can be done either in the comfort of your own home or in a convenient location during business hours.

1 hour virtual

Additional meetings can be purchased for antenatal and postpartum support. Virtual meetings can be added to any package for your convenience and can be conducted via the platform of your choice during business hours.
